WHO IS MR. WISNER? |
I began my journey in education back in 2005 as a world geography teacher with Corpus Christi ISD in South Texas. For 13 years, I taught social studies, but it wasn’t just about maps and culture—I constantly sought ways to bring the content to life, often incorporating technology to engage my students and spark critical thinking.
While I’ve always been passionate about social studies, the integration of technology truly unlocked new possibilities for both myself and my students. I saw how the right tools could make learning more collaborative, interactive, and impactful, which led me to explore a new path in education. That passion for technology drove me to transition into the field of instructional technology. As an Instructional Technology Specialist, I supported K-12 educators as they navigated the rapidly evolving world of educational technology for 6 years. I worked closely with teachers, helping them to integrate digital tools into their classrooms to enrich the learning experience for their students. It was a role that allowed me to see firsthand how technology could transform teaching and learning. Now, in my current position as the Coordinator in Innovative Technologies, I lead the district in shaping how technology, including the integration of AI, transforms education. My role involves developing and implementing strategies that leverage cutting-edge tools like AI to revolutionize classrooms, empower educators, and equip students with the skills they need for the future. I focus on ensuring that technology, particularly AI, is not just an add-on but a driving force that enhances creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. By embracing AI and other innovative technologies, I work to create learning environments where both teachers and students can thrive in today’s digital landscape. |
